Mediation Costs

Mediation administered by the Goverion Arbitration and Mediation Court is structured to provide transparency and procedural clarity from the outset. The costs of mediation generally include a registration fee, administrative case management charges, mediator fees, and reasonable expenses associated with the proceedings.

Registration Fee

A registration fee of £1,950 is payable upon filing a Request for Mediation. This fee covers the administrative processing and registration of the mediation request and is non-refundable.

Administrative Charges

Administrative work performed by the Secretariat during the mediation process is charged on a time basis. Typical administrative rates include:

These charges cover case administration, communications, and procedural management throughout the mediation process.

Mediator Fees

Mediator fees are typically calculated based on the time spent preparing for and conducting the mediation. The mediator's hourly rate is agreed with the parties prior to appointment and will generally not exceed £500 per hour, depending on the complexity of the dispute and the expertise required.

Expenses

Reasonable expenses incurred in connection with the mediation may also be charged. These may include travel costs, hearing facilities, communication technology, or other logistical requirements necessary for conducting the mediation.

Advance Deposit

At the commencement of mediation, the Court may request the parties to provide an advance deposit to cover anticipated mediator fees and administrative expenses. This ensures that the proceedings can be conducted efficiently without interruption.
